Weekly Update

September 18, 2023

9/18	Today is Maize & Blue Day!   We have art.   Remember tonight is Back to School Night for parents only.    I look forward to seeing you at 6:15
9/19	We have gym.
9/20	We have a late start.  School will start at 9:25 a.m.
9/21	We have music.
9/22	We have Media Center. Books are due.

Word Work: This week your child will be learning words that follow the VCe rule.  This rule includes words like made, globe, quite, escape, and suppose.   The words can be found on Spelling City to practice.  Please remember to use the list that comes home to practice reading words, talk about the word’s meaning, and look for common patterns in the way the words are spelled.  Please do not feel your child should be able to spell all the words on this list.We do not have a paid subscription but students may enjoy using the free activities to reinforce the lessons being taught at school.

Conferences:  This fall our conference window will be open from October 12th until November 3rd.  There will be a sign-up available starting at Back To School Night for you to choose the time and type of conference you prefer and more information will be given at that time. If you are unable to attend Back To School Night, you will have access to the schedule via a link.

Laps For Lincoln:  Yay Laps For Lincoln is back!!  The event is September 29th at Lincoln School.  Information came home on Friday.  

NWEA:  We have taken both of our NWEA assessments.  Thank you for the help in making sure your child was well rested and ready for the day.

Nightly Reading:  Students are expected to read every night for 15 min.
