Word Work: Our class will be learning about the long i digraph syllable pattern this week. The following words are examples of this pattern: light, sigh, tie, and pie. Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns. Spelling City is ready for students to access the practice list for the week. 


Stuff A Truck: November 13th-18th, 2023

Our Lincoln School Student Council is excited to be leading the way in giving back to the larger Berrien County community by collecting non-perishable (canned goods, boxed dinner/pasta) food items. If you are able, simply pick up an item (or more) at the grocery store, and send it to school with your student to be donated. We collect now because there is a greater need for food around the holidays. Thanks for spreading kindness and positivity!


Halloween Party: Thank you to all who came in to help with our party on Tuesday. The children had fun making snack, tossing pumpkins, creating bat book marks, and coloring skulls. Thank you also to everyone who sent in supplies. We had a terrific time on Tuesday.

Word Work : This week your child will learn words that have the long-o digraph pattern.  This rule includes words like moon, snow, bowl, soak, and hoe.   The words can be found on Spelling City to practice.  Please remember to use the list that comes home to practice reading words, talk about the word’s meaning, and look for common patterns in the way the words are spelled.  Please do not feel your child should be able to spell all the words on this list.
