Thank you to our field trip volunteers. We enjoyed our trip to Sarett Nature Center.  I hope your child came home and shared some interesting facts about maple sugaring with you on Friday.


Word Work: Word Work: Our class will be learning to form plurals by adding -s, -es, or -ies to words such as rocks, wishes, boxes, and puppies this week. Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns.  Spelling City is ready for students to access the Unit 20 practice list for the week. 


Spring Weather:  Please note that with the changing temperatures and our proximity to the lake, it can be hard to dress for the day.  We will be enforcing coats to 50 degrees and long sleeves to 60.  As for shorts, let's keep those for days when it's going to be 60.  If we get a breeze off the lake, it can be a cold 20 minutes on the playground.  Thank you for your help.

Word Work : This week your child will learn words that have the long-o digraph pattern.  This rule includes words like moon, snow, bowl, soak, and hoe.   The words can be found on Spelling City to practice.  Please remember to use the list that comes home to practice reading words, talk about the word’s meaning, and look for common patterns in the way the words are spelled.  Please do not feel your child should be able to spell all the words on this list.
