Word Work: This week our class will be learning about adding -ed and -ing endings to words.   Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns.  Spelling City is ready for students to access the Unit 22 practice list for the week.  


Music Performance:   Please mark your calendars for Wednesday, May 8th.  This is the day our 2nd graders will perform their show.  The performance will take place at the high school at 5:00.  Mrs. Mileham has shared this website with us to help students practice their songs and their parts.Go Fish!

We can’t wait to see you there between 4:30 and 4:45 to get ready!


Math Unit 7:  In this unit students will use their place value knowledge to learn different strategies to add and subtract within 1,000. These strategies will include number lines, partial sums, composing and decomposing.  We want them to learn all the strategies but also understand what strategy works best for them.  Let me know if you have any questions.


Donating Eclipse Glasses:  Here at Lincoln we are collecting solar glasses that were distributed on Monday if you do not want them.  They will be sent to countries in Latin America for children to enjoy an eclipse happening there in August. 


Need for Tissues: We are beginning to run low on tissue and welcome any donations. While it is nearing the end of the year, we are also heading into allergy season. Thank you so much!

Word Work : This week your child will learn words that have the long-o digraph pattern.  This rule includes words like moon, snow, bowl, soak, and hoe.   The words can be found on Spelling City to practice.  Please remember to use the list that comes home to practice reading words, talk about the word’s meaning, and look for common patterns in the way the words are spelled.  Please do not feel your child should be able to spell all the words on this list.
