Thank You: Thank you so much for a wonderful Teacher Appreciation Week.  All of the notes and heartwarming gestures were greatly appreciated.  I feel very lucky to work with such thoughtful, motivated children each day.  The support you give along with our dynamic PTO is amazing.  I hope you know how much you and your children are appreciated.

WORD WORK:  This week our class will be learning about adding the prefix re- to words as in the words return, relearn, and regroup.  Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns.  Spelling City is ready for students to access the Unit 28 practice list for the week.

FIELD TRIP VOLUNTEERS: If you are planning to join us for our field trip to the carousel, bluff, and the parade on Friday, May 24th, please let us know by May 17th.   Students will be sharing information they learn about the memorials, statues, and other interesting places along the bluff after we visit the carousel.

*Volunteer forms must be on file and processed before the trip. Please allow at least a week for processing. You may pick up forms in the office or call the office (926-3700) to have forms sent home with your child.

Thank you

SJ FIELD TRIP: FRIDAY MAY 24th  9:00 – 12:30

Lincoln’s three second grade classes will be visiting the Silver Beach Carousel, touring historical sites on the bluff, and watching the Memorial Day Parade.  The trip will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the carousel and conclude after the parade at approximately 12:30 p.m. Carousel rides will be paid for by the district. Students are encouraged to dress the colors of the flag if they would like to do so.

Lunch will be at school during our normal 1:00 p.m. time.

**PARENTS ARE WELCOME to attend our field trip.  We ask no siblings to attend the carousel and bluff walk.  This is a special time for our second grade students to learn about our community.  Parents may meet us with siblings at the parade site.  We usually find seating in front of the War Memorials on the bluff side of the street.

MAY 28TH  from 12:00 - 3:00   Walking Trip to Kiwanis Park

The second grade will make our annual trip down to Kiwanis Park for fun, food, and games.  We will celebrate the amazing school year we have had!  Please dress appropriately for the weather, wear walking shoes, and sunscreen.   Students will need a sack lunch. PARENTS AND YOUNGER SIBLINGS ARE WELCOME.
