Back To School Night:  Thank you to everyone who was able to attend last Monday night. I understand that this is a busy time of year.  If you were unable to be there, all of the information is posted to the blog for your reference.  During the evening I had a sign-up available for conferences.  If you do not have a day and time yet, please click on this link and select a time that works best for you.  Remember your student will be involved in a conference so please plan a time when they are also able to attend.


Word Work: This week your child will be learning words that are open syllables.  This includes words like; be, by, me, and cry.   The words can be found on Spelling City to practice.  Please remember to use the list that comes home to practice reading words, talk about the word’s meaning, and look for common patterns in the way the words are spelled.  Please do not feel your child should be able to spell all the words on this list.


Spelling City and RAZ:  Many of you have asked how to get into programs like Spelling City and RAZ.   For both websites, you first go to spjs symbaloo.  For Spelling City, go into Clever and it is in my teacher section.  If you would like your child to work on RAZ reading, that is the icon of a robot on the Symbaloo.  If it requires a teacher name for the log in, please use cstarks13.  Let me know if you have any questions.


Laps For Lincoln:  Laps For Lincoln will be this Friday, Sept. 29th.  There will be 3 more collection dates on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  Please know how much we appreciate your donations but also appreciate the support you give in sending kind and caring students to us each day very much.  We are looking forward to celebrating our wonderful Lincoln Family on Friday and hope everyone will be able to participate.
