Thank you PTO:  Our second graders loved their extra recess and candy treat this week as a part of celebrating the success of Laps for Lincoln.  Our pizza party was enjoyed greatly on Friday.  A huge thank you to those who helped make the delicious lunch possible!


Student Included Conferences: Conferences are just around the corner.  We are excited to include students this year.  During our 20 minutes together, your children and I will share information about where their learning will go this year.  If you have questions that you prefer to discuss without your child present, please send me an email ahead of time so that I am able to allow time during our 20 minute conference.

  

Word Work: This week your child will continue to learn words that have the long-a digraph pattern.  This rule includes words like brain, weight, tray, and whey.   The words can be found on Spelling City to practice.  Please remember to use the list that comes home to practice reading words, talk about the word’s meaning, and look for common patterns in the way the words are spelled.  Please help your child notice this pattern while they read aloud to you nightly. Thank you


Halloween Party:  Our Tuesday, Halloween Party will be held on October 31, 2023. I will be sending an email to those parents who signed up to help at Back to School Night.  If you missed sign up and would like to help or attend the party, please contact me by email as soon as possible.
