Word Work: Our class will be learning about irregular plurals such as words like children, wolves, and pianos this week. Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns. Spelling City is ready for students to access the Unit 20 practice list for the week.


Author Visit:  Our author visit with author and illustrator, Peter H. Reynolds will be tomorrow from 8:45-9:30.  We are excited for Peter to read a story, do a directed drawing, talk with us about creativity, writing, and making your mark!  Check in with your child tomorrow to learn more about this opportunity.


In Math:  This week we are finishing our unit on polygons, equal parts, time, and money.  Thank you for helping reinforce the time and money skills at home.  These will be utilized in third grade.  If you are looking for additional practice, there are a number of skill specific activities as well as fun games on iXL.

Library Books:  Please help your child remember to return or renew his/her library books before spring break.

Word Work : This week your child will learn words that have the long-o digraph pattern.  This rule includes words like moon, snow, bowl, soak, and hoe.   The words can be found on Spelling City to practice.  Please remember to use the list that comes home to practice reading words, talk about the word’s meaning, and look for common patterns in the way the words are spelled.  Please do not feel your child should be able to spell all the words on this list.
